COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (September 30, 2026) – Liana Amaris Cerra made the most of her opportunity at the 2026 ISSF Junior World Cup Shotgun in Porpetto, Italy, battling her way from the final qualifying position to a bronze medal in Junior Women’s Skeet.
Cerra finished qualification with 112/125 targets and entered a shoot-off for the final two spots in the eight-athlete final. She advanced in eighth place and quickly began working her way up the standings once the final started.
The El Paso, Texas, athlete hit 10 of her first 12 targets and continued climbing through the field as athletes were eliminated. With four shooters remaining, Cerra held a one-target advantage over the Czech Republic’s Tereza Mlikova to secure her place on the podium.
Cerra finished the final to earn bronze behind Varvara Zaitseva, who won gold, and Kseniia Shuliak, who earned silver.
“This was a great group of athletes, and this trip provided valuable international experience for each of them,” said Dwayne Weger, USA Shooting Shotgun National Team Coach. “They are continuing to learn how to handle the pressure that comes with competing at this level. Experiences like Porpetto are an important part of their development, and we’ll take what we learned here and use it as we prepare for future competitions.”

The result marked Cerra’s first ISSF Junior World Cup final and podium and a significant leap from her 13th-place finish at the 2025 ISSF Junior World Cup in New Delhi, India.
Cerra led the U.S. contingent in Junior Women’s Skeet. Chloe Chaleunsinh finished 11th, just one target behind Cerra, while Gracie Hensley placed 16th.
